Survey shows people like to take public transport more when they are on holiday

A new survey by app creators Moovit has shown that 93% of their users would take public transportation during a holiday

When asked about their preferred means of travel while on holidays, Americans chose public transport as the second most popular choice, coming in at 31%.

Biking was the least popular way to move around, with only 1% preferring pedal power while on a holiday. The survey also took the pulse of users on its top 19 metro areas around the country on other vacation related issues.

It found that 60% of respondents are travelling for vacation this year with 20% taking an international trip and 40% taking in the sights in the U.S. The opportunity to experience to city like a local was one of the top reasons given for using public transport.
