Do you think you could give your great job and city apartment to go travelling around Europe by car while living in an inflatable home? Well that’s exactly what wedding and lifestyle photographer Jo Crawford and her boyfriend Steven did, when they quit their jobs and their rented apartment in London, packed up their Fiat Punto and Vango Capri 500 inflatable home and set out on their travels on 1 May.
Now eight weeks into their adventure, which they estimate will last four months, the couple have been blogging their travels on their website, Our Inflatable Home. Although they had achieved success in their respective careers to date, they are having a great time travelling as a couple. They were happy to jump off the career ladder for a while as they were looking for an adventure and didn’t want to look back on their lives and have regrets.
Jo and Steven saved as much money as possible before leaving London, and being are very careful to stick to their budget. They took the Eurotunnel to France and began their adventure in Normandy and Brittany. They visited Cannes, St. Tropez, Nice and Monaco, and naturally as Jo is a photographer, they have posted stunning pics of their time there on their blog. Having spent time travelling around Italy, they are currently in Innsbruck, Austria.
Living in the tent is going well too, and it is one of the types that doesn’t have poles but inflates using a pump. Jo and Steven made an executive decision to purchase a kitchen cabinet along the way to make life a little easier and keep the tent looking tidier.
The adventurous pair say that having their own things to do and taking moments to themselves is really important on the road. They enjoy reading, playing guitar, and editing pictures and video, and of course, taking in the stunning surroundings that unfold around them. Are we jealous as we look at their fab images from our desks on a rainy Tuesday? Well, maybe just a little.
