Spend a night in the stars at Philadelphia's highest custom-built hotel room

Philadelphia is better known for its place in US history than as a setting for stargazing, but the winners of a new contest will get to glimpse a little bit of both while spending a night on the city’s tallest attraction.

The One Liberty Observation Deck has announced that ‘ A Night in the Stars’ contest winner and their guest will get to sleep in a custom-built hotel on the deck, which opened late last year.

Until 14 June, people can enter to win a night at what will be Philadelphia’s highest hotel room. On 22 June, the winner will get to take in panoramic views of the city and sleep in the pop-up hotel room, which will include all the luxuries of the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia’s presidential suite, including a king-sized bed, champagne and VIP culinary experiences.

The winner will have to get to Philadelphia to claim their prize, and for everyone else, the tower is open every day from 10 am to 10 pm.

The observation deck provides a peak into Philly’s history, featuring interactive touch-screen boards that help travellers learn more about the noteworthy sights they can view from the top, providing information on a landmark’s history, architecture and impact on culture.

They can also get an interesting look at one of the City of Brotherly Love’s most famous former residents, as a giant statue of Benjamin Franklin’s head is located on the deck.
