Storm's over, sun's out, and it's time to indulge in New York's best popsicle

New Yorkers are commiserating with each other over the lightning and severe weather warnings of recent days caused by Storm Colin.

Thankfully the storm passed over New York and in spite of the wet and slightly chilled air, people can go back to thinking of summery things – namely popsicles.

It finally tastes like summer 🍭 😎☀️#peoplespops #smorgasburg #bkflea (📷 @phaat_sluts)

With their fruit, sugar, and water base, popsicles have seen a resurgence (who knew they needed one!) due to their relative healthiness. What’s more, some inspired soul decided to douse them in alcohol or plunge them into a cocktail, and we are all grateful.

What’s more, they’re colourful and easy and therefore photogenic, making them the ideal treat for all those Instagram foodies.

One of the kings of popsicles that might be able to put the summer back into stormy New York, is Peoples Pops, the popular shop and market stall that serves “best locally grown fruit into delicious hand-made pops and shave ice.”

Making healthy and colourful snacks that come with the iconic popsicle stick, Peoples Pops serves up popsicles from in Williamsburg, Chelsea, Fort Greene, at various markets, and along the High Line.

The mixture of colour, Brooklyn vibes, and interesting local produce has made them a favourite on Instagram, where they promote their delicious plunder.
