Did you know British holidaymakers choose their destinations based on where they live?

Does where you live have anything to do with the type of holiday destinations you select? It might, according to new research from a British travel company. The study by teletextholidays.co.uk was based on data from more than 100,000 booked holidays from last year in Great Britain, and the results are enlightening.

With the summer holidays fast approaching, teletextholidays.co.uk has revealed that there’s a big regional divide when it comes to Brits choosing their ideal holiday hotspot. Analysis of holidays taken from the UK last year proves that where you come from does determine where you go.

Londoners are more into shorter breaks, and luxury three-night stays in Marrakesh are popular with capital-dwellers. Up north in Newcastle though, they love to visit Spain’s Costa Brava, while people from Liverpool are far more likely to favour the Costa Blanca than other people in the UK. Glaswegians enjoy the Costa Del Sol, while the Northern Irish enjoy Majorca.

Those from southern England prefer the heat of Gran Canaria, while party-lovers from York are all about Ibiza.
