Chicago is to get a Saved By The Bell themed pop-up diner this summer

Nostalgia is such a feature of contemporary living these days. So perhaps it’s no surprise that Chicago is offering a little trip down memory lane with a popup dedicated to that 1990s staple, Saved By The Bell, in diner form!

A replica of The Max diner, the hang-out spot for high-schoolers Zack Morris, Screech, and Kelly Kapowski, is to be recreated complete with jukebox, 90s paraphernalia, and a payphone. Saved By The Max in Chicago’s Wicker Park was supposed to open for June only, but has proven to be a hit even before opening and has extended its stay till August!

It offers a walk-in only service for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, with themed dishes dedicated to the series. Some of the specialities are Mac & Screech mac-n-cheese, Bayside Sliders named after the high-school the characters attend, Bayside High-school, and a series of 80s and 90s themed events such as a Zack Attack variety show and mock prom nights.

There have also been rumoured appearances from the former cast members, but none as yet have been confirmed. This is your chance for nostalgia junkies to get a hit of some of that sweet Saved By The Bell magic while they can.
