From June 2nd to 5th, “La Maison Parisienne by Airbnb” invites travellers to discover the art of being Parisian through a series of locally themed activities and workshops. Events range from art and gastronomy to music and sport. Guests can take part in cooking classes covering Parisian classics, try their hand at perfume-making and embrace the modern beat of the city with hip hop workshops. There will be wine tastings, of course, but also craft beer tastings in support of the burgeoning trend for local brewing. Those looking to explore the city in a more active fashion can sign up for the morning running tours hosted by the local Nike Run Club. The events will be held from 9am to 9pm each day, at 153 avenue Ledru-Rollin in the eleventh arrondissement.

This event is part of Airbnb’s “Live There” campaign, which aims to encourage travellers to explore destinations as a locals. The campaign has seen the relaunch of their app to give travellers more personalised recommendations, and TV, digital and print ads focused on Paris, L.A. and Tokyo. For those who aren’t in Paris but plan to visit sometime soon, during the event Airbnb hosts and travel experts will be answering Paris-related questions on Twitter using the hashtag #dingdong. Select workshops will be given in English.
