Watch as campers film lionesses licking rainwater from their tent in Botswana

When it rains in Botswana, it really pours. But a couple of tourists got far more than they bargained for when they sheltered in their tent during a downpour – and three lionesses gathered to lick the rainwater off their tent.

Francie Lubbe and her husband were separated from the wild animals by only the thin sheet of plastic as they sat dumbfounded in their tent in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in Botswana.

However, the nature lover saw an opportunity to capture the incredible moment and shared the video on Facebook and she managed to stay calm as the three lions padded up to the tent to take a drink.

She captured the whole thing on camera and posted the incredible scene on Facebook. Y0u can see the Lubbe’s personal items including drinks and sun cream right beside the lionesses mouths, but they appear either not to know or not to care that there were humans only inches away as they lapped up the water.

Lubbe wrote on Facebook: “What a privilege. It rained during the night and three lionesses are licking the water from the tent. It was special.”
