Bottoms up on the new onboard business class bar for Virgin Australia passengers

Tearing yourself away from the departure lounge bar will be easier from now on if you’re a Virgin Australia business class passenger, as it has installed a swish new bar in the cabin, which opens after the flight’s first meal service has been served. Flying just got a whole lot more fun! The airline has revealed that the business class bar on its refitted Boeing 777-300ERs will also serve a continental breakfast before the full breakfast service.

The business class cabin, known as “The Business,” features 37 individual and private suites that can convert into 80-inch-long beds for a decent night’s snoozing. The airline claims that its in-flight entertainment system’s 18-inch screen is the largest on a flight between North America and Australia, so you will be guaranteed a premium entertainment experience. Privacy is such a luxury on a flight, so we love that the cabin is presented in a “reverse herringbone cabin layout” to maximise privacy, plus there is a generous console area to work on and keep your laptop and electronics charged.

There is good news if you can’t afford to splurge on business class. The airline has also announced new Economy Space+ seats, and while you sadly won’t be able to mingle at the business class bar, it’s still an attractive option, offering extra legroom, your own overhead space, a guaranteed first meal choice, dedicated crew members on the flight and a noise-cancelling headset. These premium seats can be found in the first five rows and the exit rows of the economy cabin.
