Proving that age is merely a number, a septuagenarian couple from Poland who enjoy visiting nightclubs in their home country recently paid a visit to famous London nightclub, Fabric. Clubbers were astonished to see the unnamed couple downing tequila shots and dancing until 5am at the venue’s weekly Wet Your Self underground house and techno night.
While some people feared they had wandered in to the venue by mistake, the elderly clubbers from Warsaw told DJ Jacob Husley that they had purchased tickets online after reading a review of the popular club in a Polish newspaper. Having visited their daughter in Watford over the weekend, they were among the first to arrive when the nightclub opened at 10pm, and didn’t leave until seven hours later. “They came when doors opened, and had already planned to take the Tube home when it finished at 6am,” says DJ Jacob Husley. “I told them they had a free bar, two shots of tequila to start, but after that they asked if they could have cups of tea.”
Husley escorted the sprightly pair upstairs to the VIP area, but they left and went down to bring their ballroom dancing moves to the dance floor. They danced and mingled with other revellers, although the woman was using a crutch and didn’t walk very well. At the end of the evening, staff persuaded them to take a taxi home paid for by the club rather than waiting for the Tube to start, and the happy couple said they had a great time and loved the crowd and vibe. “So much humour, love and playfulness between these two,” said Husley, afterwards in a Facebook post, while admitting that he initially thought they were lost when he spotted them slowly making their way down the entrance stairs.”Our bodies might age but our souls are timeless.”
