One of the common complaints of mountaineers is that once you’ve scaled a mountain it is impossible to get a pizza delivered. Or not.
In any case, Pizza Hut is now here to solve the pizza-loving mountaineer’s dilemma.
Yesterday the pizza company broke the Guinness World Record for the highest altitude pizza delivery on land at an altitude of 19,341 feet, when it delivered a pizza to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
It took five mountaineers and four days to get the pizza all the way up the mountain to the top.
The guides and Pizza Hut employees chose a pepperoni pizza for the occasion, which they kept heated throughout the six days thanks to a battery-powered heater.
Once at the summit the hikers shared the pizza and celebrated breaking a Guinness World Record.
Pizza Hut is famous for its amazing deliveries. It has previously delivered pizza to the International Space Station as well as to the White House.
The feat was a way of celebrating the opening of Pizza Hut in Tanzania, its 100th country.
