See 24 hours’ worth of flights around the US in a one minute video

A video from Flightradar24 compresses 24-hours of flights over the United States into one minute. The video, from the real-time flight tracking service, shows all the flights taken between 00:00 UTC (Co-ordinated Universal Time) to 23:59 UTC on 1 April, 2016.

The video shows how flights are spread out through the day and the concentration of flights coming to and from hubs like Los Angeles and New York.

According to the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, there are more than 87,000 flights in the skies in the US on any given day; although only one-third are commercial flights. There are more than 100,000 plane departures around the world every day.
