Dubai waterpark pulls the plug to create massive skatepark

Back in January, three skateboarders were given unprecedented access to the rides at the Aquaventure Waterpark Atlantis at The Palm in Dubai, when they were drained of water to create a giant skatepark.

The three skaters from Red Bull tackled 500ft of twists and turns as well as the 46ft wall on the 80ft high (that’s over six storeys tall) Zoomerango ride, whipped round the 30ft wide pipes of the Anaconda and rode down of the massive 130ft high Poseidon’s Tower. Eighteen year-old skater Alex Sorgente from Italy said, ‘the slide where huge and a real challenge. My favourite part was the roll in to the giant bank wall, I’ve never skated a wall so tall in my life.’ Red Bull recently released footage of the stunt which you can watch here:
