Cambodia readies for Angkor Sangkran new year festivities

As the Angkor Sangkran festival – a major event of Khmer New Year – approaches, tourism officials in Cambodia  are preparing for an influx of visitors, with more than a million people expected to come to Siem Reap, gateway city to the Temples of Angkor.

Cultural and traditional activities, food exhibitions and games are planned across the 13–16 April event, with many hotels reportedly already booked out. Angkor Sangkran is the celebration of the end of the harvesting season, before the beginning of the rainy period. Read more: phnompenhpost.com
