A record number of cruise ships will dock in Tasmania this year, with 94 port calls already been booked — a surge of 60% on the previous year.
Stops at Port Arthur will double, as well as more cruises stopping at Burnie and Wineglass Bay. Tasmania tourism expects about 114,000 passengers to visit Tasmania on cruises which they hope will convert into repeat visits.
“They come to Tasmania, they fall in love with Tasmania and they come again and more importantly they tell their friends and family to visit our wonderful state,” told ABC news.
