Jedi battle on Dubai's Burj Khalifa to promote the digital release of Star Wars: the Force Awakens

A new video shows two Jedi performers taking part in a lightsaber battle in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.

The video was made to mark the digital release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Jedi performers are shown on the 152nd floor of the iconic building – battling at 550 metres – and were captured by an aerial film crews.

The latest instalment of the series has a connection to the United Arab Emirates, as filming took place in two locations in Abu Dhabi in May of 2014. Abu Dhabi stands in for Jakku, a frontier desert planet in the Outer Rim Territories, where the character Rey is first seen.

For any non-Star Wars fans, the video also gives a little glimpse inside Burj Khalifa – which at 828 metres tall, is worth a look. The Force Awakens was released in December 2015 and had the highest grossing global opening weekend of all time.
