On 31 March, Tucker, a rescued sea turtle, became the first non-human treated in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber at Virginia Mason Hospital. The turtle had internal gas bubbles and was unable to stay underwater. The hospital staff hope that by putting the animal in the chamber with 100 percent oxygen for two-and-a-half hours a day will solve his problems and once he can dive safely, he’ll be able to avoid predators in the wild.
