Drought-hit Bangkok urges Songkran revellers to switch water pistols for spray bottles
Bangkok officials have urged revellers to try and conserve water during the upcoming Songkran (water throwing) festival by swapping water pistols for spray bottles, which use less water.
The annual festival has already been cut short from four days to three in Bangkok (12-14 April) due to water shortages in the Thai capital, with water fights only allowed until 9pm.
