Las Vegas woman wins jackpot at McCarran International Airport

Proof that luck can land anywhere in Las Vegas, a woman has won a $933,000 jackpot while waiting for her flight at McCarran International Airport.

The woman dropped a lucky quarter into the IGT Wheel of Fortune when she hit the nearly $1 million jackpot on 22 March. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, jackpot winners in Nevada’s busiest airport aren’t all that rare. Nearly 40 million travellers pass through McCarran each year, and two other travellers won jackpots of over $1 million last year. But the biggest winner is the Department of Aviation, which manages McCarran; the airport’s 1330 slot machines raked in $25.6 million in gaming revenues for the fiscal year that ended 30 June 2015.
