New helicopter tours will fly over China's countryside to see spring blossoms in full bloom

A new helicopter tour in China will allow visitors a bird’s-eye view of the region’s spring rapeseed flowers blossom.

Huangling village in China’s Jiangxi Province, which bills itself as having the most beautiful countryside in China, is known for its flower terraces and Hui-style houses with black roof tiles and white walls.

The village is surrounded by mountains and steep cliffs and is known for retaining “the unique folk tradition of shaiqiu, or ‘crop drying in mid-air’ as villagers sun-dry chili pepper and corn harvests around the houses throughout the year, according to a news release. The helicopter tours will take travellers to see the community and countryside from above.

In addition to helicopter tours, the Wuyuan Rural Culture Development Co., Ltd, the company that oversees the village’s operations, has created a virtual reality viewing that gives visitors a 3D view of the fields, crop drying and historic homes through a real-time drone feed.

Hot air balloon tours over the countryside are expected in the future.
