New Amsterdam modern and contemporary art museum will open with Banksy and Warhol exhibit

A new museum for modern and contemporary art will open in Amsterdam at the end of March and two very famous artists will be featured in its opening exhibit.

The Modern Contemporary (Moco) Museum’s opening exhibit will combine works of art by “Pop Art –protagonist Andy Warhol and Street Art-legend Banksy”, featuring more than fifty pieces by the famed artists.

The new museum will be located in Amsterdam’s museum square – between the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum – and intends to reach out to a wider, international and young audience.

The museum is located in the Alsberg’ townhouse, “designed by the architect Eduard Cuypers, cousin to the world renowned Pierre Cuypers who was responsible for the design of the Rijksmuseum which is positioned on the opposite side of the Museum Square”, according to a news release.
