Portland cinema to screen ‘Baraka’ in 70mm during film festival to celebrate Earth Day

Next month the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon, will screen the non-narrative documentary film Baraka in wide-format 70mm to celebrate Earth Day.

Hollywood Theatre is one of just a few theatres in the US that have 70mm, which packs a higher resolution than standard 35mm formats. Baraka, released in 1992, explores various themes through a compilation of non-narrative events: human activities, natural phenomena and technological processes. The screening will be part of the Portland Eco Film Fest, an environmental film festival.
