In search of cookies (presumably) he ended up at the zoo, taking selfies with some of its inhabitants. “Oh, me so excited to be visiting Taronga Zoo in Sydney,” said Cookie Monster on his Facebook page.

In particular the Sesame Street character seemed to befriend a quokka that couldn’t hold back his joy when posing for a photo with the blue furry monster. “Da quokka is da happiest animal! Say cheese!!” Cookie Monster posted to his nine million followers.

He went on to hang out with a kangaroo called Penny.”Me hear that a kangaroo can hop up to nine metres in one hop! That pretty fast, but me think me would go that fast in search of a chocolate chippie cookie,” the monster wrote. He also went to hang out with a koala high up in a eucalyptus tree.

When it came to the emu, Cookie Monster didn’t seem to be of much interest to the enormous bird, who preferred to strut off.

Cookie Monster then went to all the major sightseeing spots like the Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art and Sydney Harbour.

The Cookie Monster’s visit Down Under seemed to be a pleasant visit for the busy blue monster, who is in the middle of his world tour promoting the 46th season of Sesame Street which is launching soon!
