UK and Ireland plan new visas for nationals of Gulf countries

Citizens of the Gulf region, including the United Arab Emirates may soon be able to visit the UK and Ireland more easily thanks to a proposed new visa scheme.

The scheme would see the UK and Ireland offer joint visas to nationals of the Gulf region in an effort to boost tourism from those countries. In 2015, 55,000 tourists visited Ireland from the UAE alone, and Tourism Ireland said it hoped to see a 10% growth in that figure for 2016.
