The first beer spa in the US opens in Oregon

Since the Middle Ages, people have soaked in tubs of beer for a variety of health benefits, believing a beer bath to be a cure for insomnia and aid in relaxation.

But until now beer spas have only existed in Europe. The first beer spa in the United States has opened in Oregon (where else?). Hop in the Spa in Sisters, Oregon, offers visitors a chance to soak in the suds, which the spa operators says can help with aches and pains. Business is booming, and the owners plan to expand the offerings to include a “Hop in the Garden,” which will be an onsite beer garden, as well as “Hop in Cup,” a hop-infused coffee.
