The world’s first brick-and-mortar Simpsons retail stores are set to open in China this spring, it has been announced.
The two flagship stores will sell merchandise themed around the long-running primetime cartoon, which has recently found a wider audience in China. The first store will open in Beijing’s Sanlitun district in March, followed by a second store opening in Shanghai in June. Though The Simpsons first aired in 1989, it has only been available to Chinese viewers since 2014, when it was licensed by Chinese website Sohu.
