Michelangelo's Siena villa for sale for €7.5m

An eight-bedroom villa near Siena that was purchased by Renaissance artist Michelangelo Buonarroti in 1549 and stayed in his family until 1867 has been put up for sale for only the fourth time since then.

For the hefty price tag of €7.5 million, the villa’s new owner will get original details such fireplaces and a barrelled brick ceiling, views over the Tuscan countryside and the original deed, which describes the house’s famous former owner as “a dear sculptor and Florentine citizen”.
