A performance artist has been arrested after lying down naked in front of a painting of a nude woman.
An exhibition at the Musee d’Orsay in Paris featured the Edouard Manet painting Olympia, which artist Deborah De Robertis undressed in front of and assumed a similar pose to the subject. She was asked to leave by security guards and was arrested when she refused. Her lawyer said: “Putting an artist in custody sends a very bad message,” adding that it showed a “worrying judicial prudishness”. Read more: theguardian.com
