Fancy a Scottish 10km wineathlon, running included?

A ‘wineathlon’ in which participants will run 10km while sampling various wines has been criticised by Scotland’s  largest health board.

Over 200 people have already signed up for the Glasgow event, which is part of  a series of Wineathlons taking place across the UK – other host locations include Conwy, Cambridge, Worcester and Yorkshire. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said “Not only is alcohol detrimental to sports performance, but this proposed event stands against our public health messages.” The organisers said the course would be an “easy trail” with feed stations stocked with optional samples every few miles.
