Iconic Croatian beach bent double by freak winds

Croatia’s Zlatni Rat beach, which is famous for its distinctive long narrow spit pointing out to sea, has been left misshapen by two days of 70km/h winds.

The strong winds and waves that buffeted the island of Brač bent the white-pebble beach back on itself, almost forming a spiral shape.

The good news is that the change isn’t permanent – it has happened before and the beach always straightens back out in the end.
