Tunnel could link Finland and Estonia by 2030

The governments of Finland and Estonia are considering building a tunnel under the Baltic Sea which would link the two nations’ capital cities.

The new rail route – an extension of the Rail Baltic route between Warsaw and Tallinn – would cut the 90-minute ferry journey to around thirty minutes and could be in operation by 2030. Proponents of the scheme say easing travel between Tallinn and Helsinki would increase tourism and boost the Finnish and Estonian economies. Read more: channelnewsasia.com
