The governments of Finland and Estonia are considering building a tunnel under the Baltic Sea which would link the two nations’ capital cities.
The new rail route – an extension of the Rail Baltic route between Warsaw and Tallinn – would cut the 90-minute ferry journey to around thirty minutes and could be in operation by 2030.
