The South African city of Cape Town has a cool new way for children to beat the summer heat – the country’s first outdoor skating rink has opened at the Rotary Blue Train Park in Mouille Point.
The 126-square-metre rink uses a synthetic surface, so does not require electrical power to operate. Kids between the ages of three and 12 can rent bright blue ice skates and take to the rink for either 30 minutes (R30, US$2) or a full hour (R50, US$3). Read more: news24.com
