In a letter to the CEO of the Holborn Group, the property developer that manages the skyscraper, Mayor Robertson said, ‘Trump’s name and brand have no more place on Vancouver’s skyline than his ignorant ideas have in the modern world.’ During his bid to become the Republican candidate for the president of the United States, Donald Trump’s remarks, which include banning all Muslims from entry into the United States and building a wall on the US-Mexico border, have provoked outrage. The Holborn Group said last week that it was ‘not in any way involved in U.S. politics’ and made no indication that it was considering changing the name.
