Kamchatka to get Russia’s first snow-and-ice hotel

The first hotel in Russia built of ice and snow will open on 1 March 2016 in Kamchatka .

According to a local official, it will be built using Canadian and Scandinavian technology, with furs on the floors and sleeping bags for guests, and food and drink served in dishes and glasses made of ice. The hotel will be able to accommodate 15 guests at a time. Its location will be near the famous hot springs in Kamchatka, whose tourism reportedly grew by 25% in 2015 largely due to a significant influx of Russian tourists. Another project is developing Avacha Bay with plans for it to receive over 70 cruise ships per year. Read more: tass.ru
