Japan opens its longest suspended walkway

A 400m-long cable-suspended walkway with views of Mt Fuji –  the longest cable-suspended pedestrian bridge in Japan – opened to the public on Monday.

The Hakone-seiroku Mishima Grand Suspension Bridge, also known as the ‘Mishima Sky Walk’ is located in a mountainous area in Shizuoka Prefecture, east Japan, and is about 70.6m above the ground at its highest point. From the walkway, visitors can view Mt Fuji, Saruga Bay and the mountaintops of Izu Peninsula.
