Severe storms bring heavy rain to the Pacific Northwest

El Niño-related storms brought heavy rains to the Pacific Northwest, triggering mudslides and flooding. Thousands were without power on Wednesday, and officials confirmed two women had died due to the storms.

Five inches of rain fell in Portland, OR, in three days, almost as much as typical rainfall for the whole month of December. Sinkholes, flooding rivers and closed roads were reported over all of the Pacific Northwest.
