Stockholm prepares for Nobel Prize ceremony

Preparations for Sweden’s most prestigious international event, the annual Nobel Prize ceremony, are well underway, and guests are set to arrive at Stockholm Concert Hall for the award ceremony at 4.30pm today, before the televised banquet begins at 7pm at City Hall.

It’s been less than a month since officials raised Sweden’s terror threat level to its highest ever, but Stockholm police have played down claims that security is tighter than ever, stating that security for the event, which plays host to international ambassadors and dignitaries, is always extremely high, and this year is no different.
