Spain breaks records after 12th deadly bull goring

A 60-year-old man has been gored at a bull run in the Spanish province of Segovia, bringing this year’s death toll to 12 and making it the deadliest year for bull-related fatalities in 15 years.

A video capturing the bloody event over the weekend was posted to YouTube but has since been removed. The man was killed at a point in the bull run where there are no fences to protect onlookers from the raging animals. His death has reinforced protests by animal rights activists who condemn the tradition for endangering people and animals. Read more: elpais.com
