The resurgence of Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA to its friends) has been unstoppable in recent years, but new found fame has its downsides as visitors to a new museum discovered yesterday.
The Broad Museum, a collection of postwar and contemporary art, opens to the public on 20 September and starting allowing online reservations for its free tickets yesterday, Monday. Unfortunately, so many potential visitors tried to use the booking system that it collapsed under the weight of its own popularity. Clearly, and despite these teething problems, the new museum, with a stunning design and appealing exhibits, is already a hit before it opens. Read more: latimes.com
