A man working on Catalina Island near Southern California was gored by a bison, puncturing his lung and requiring him to walk hundreds of metres for help.
Christopher Baker, CEO and president of a conservation group working on the island, was recording data when he encountered the bison. A spokesperson noted that Baker is experienced when it comes to wild animals, and is expected to survive. The bison on Catalina Island are believed to be the descendents of a herd that was brought to the area in the 1920s for a film production. Read more: reviewjournal.com
