Kruger ranger has very close encounter with curious elephant

Incredible video footage has emerged of a massive elephant inquisitively ‘feeling up’ a ranger on the fringe of Kruger National Park in South Africa.

The ranger, who was sitting on a chair mounted above the safari vehicle’s front bumper, has been hailed for his calm demeanour during the incident. Elephants are extremely social creatures, but can cause a lot of damage even when not intending to – only last week a curious elephant left a tusk-sized hole in the side of a French couple’s car in Hluhluwe–iMfolozi.
