Strike could close Scotland’s National Museum

Strike action looks likely to close the National Museum of Scotland for seven days from Monday.

The Edinburgh Festival means August is a particularly busy time for the museum. Staff are protesting against the fact that not all employees get an extra allowance for working weekends. It’s not the first time the museum has closed due to strike action. Funding cuts have affected many cultural institutions across the UK. Read more: bbc.co.uk
