A flourishing ‘hipster’ scene has emerged in Kyiv since the 2014 Maidan revolution and tragic events that took place in Ukraine’s capital.
A cycling culture is booming, with bike stands introduced at many bars and restaurants and midnight bike rides on the weekends. A large number of modern bars and cafes and small fashion boutiques keep opening in abandoned storefronts in the centre, while a former factory on the city’s outskirts now houses galleries, artistic studios and performance venues.
