Tel Aviv on the Seine – a day devoted to celebrating the culture of Tel Aviv at Paris Plages (beaches) – will go ahead as planned on Thursday 13 August under tight security. The event has caused controversy and sparked protests by some leftists and pro-Palestinian groups.
There will be around 500 police officers patrolling the event and searching visitors’ bags. Protesters have taken to social media to express their outrage while others have claimed they will open their own ‘Gaza beach’ event nearby.
