Edinburgh guerilla trapeze artists warned after stunt

Two circus performers have been warned after performing a trapeze act while dangling from an iconic bridge in Edinburgh city centre.

The gymnasts from Fringe Festival act Cirk La Putyka waited for a police patrol to pass before lashing harnesses onto the 20m-tall George IV Bridge and performing mid-air stunts. A local MSP said that ‘someone could have died and it is sheer luck than nothing untoward happened’. It’s also emerged that the Pleasance Dome, a key festival venue, will be closed next year as Edinburgh University plans to redevelop it. Read more: scotsman.com
