Panama to celebrate National Golden Frog Day

The Golden Frog is legally recognized as a Panamanian cultural and ecological symbol, and is annually celebrated on 14 August with events to raise awareness of the species endangered status.

This year, celebrations sponsored by the Amphibian Conservation Center of El Valle de Anton (EVACC), will begin on 15 August at Plaza Comercial Paseo at 11am. The events will include children’s activities, educational workshops and games; the festivities will continue through Sunday 30 August, and it will conclude with the La Dorada Race starting at 6:30am with distances of 5k, 10k, and 15k.
