On the seventh of August Kona Brewing Co on the Big Island of Hawaii will release a beer that they say uses desalinated seawater sourced from the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority.
According to the brewmaster, the Kai Golden Ale has notes of banana and cloves, and the minerals in the desalinated water aid in fermentation. The beer is the third release in a series of suds whose profits benefit local nonprofits.
