Las Vegas clamps down on Fremont Street fun

Fremont St, in downtown Las Vegas, was where the fun in the desert began and where in recent years local businesses have tried to lure visitors away from the Strip.

But now authorities are concerned about another kind of ‘strip’ – overly raunchy street performers wearing skimpy costumes. New rules have already restricted public drinking in the area, and the latest regulations will try to rein in the performers’ costumes, or lack thereof, and the way they aggressively demand tips from passersby.
