Heavy rainfall, wind and rough seas over the past two days has left 1500 tourists stranded on Vietnam’s Co To Island, off the northern coast of the country.
The local meteorological agency has said the rainfall in the region has been the worst in 40 years. Roads have been damaged, and boats have been unable to operate. Authorities have reportedly encouraged hotels to reduce their rates by 30% to 50% to help the stranded visitors unable to return home from weekend holidays. Read more: tuoitrenews.vn
