Florida man wins Hemingway look-a-like contest on 15th attempt
A Florida man was named ‘Papa Hemingway’ at an annual look-a-like contest held in Key West on Saturday, after making attempts for the title 15 times before.
Charlie Boice, a retired air-traffic controller, took the title home from Sloppy Joe’s Bar in Key West, a favourite haunt of the writer which hosts the event, beating 121 other white-bearded contestants. The competition is a fixture of the Hemingway Days festival held in Key West which honours the author’s legacy and links to the region. Read more: miamiherald.com
